Now Taking Sign Ups for Prairie Schooler Ornament Round

Prairie Schooler ornaments blew away all other themes in this round's poll! So.... I am now taking sign ups for those who would like to participate in the next round of the Perpetual Christmas Ornament Exchange.... Prairie Schooler....

Participants may stitch any ornament they wish as long as it is a Prairie Schooler design. And, OK stitchers.... if you want to tuck a small treat in with your ornament, go ahead. The no goodies exchanges have been great, but since so many of you sneak in goodies anyhow... what can I say?? LOL Goodies are absolutely not required though.

Standard rules apply - your ornament must be stitched and finished, ready to hang. No AIDA - linen or evenweave only.

I will take sign ups from now until February 16, 2012
Mailing date will be April 15, 2012 - much more fun than mailing out your taxes, right US stitchers???

Also... great news. I have a limited number of openings for new members for HoE. As you know, we are now only using this one blog. When we hit 100 authors, we are full! Yesterday I received my exchange from Carol for the Santa exchange. I have always wanted to receive a piece from Carol and now I am lucky enough to have one. Carol stitched the Santa Rides ornament from The Prairie Schooler. Carol picked a sunshine design because we are in our summer here. Thank you Carol, I love the design and the finishing.

My Valentine exchange arrived on Monday! Thank you Lisa it is just gorgeous. She stitched up a Primitive Betty design and finished it as a small stand up. The finishing is beautiful I LOVE it!

She also sent along a little bag of milk bones for Rory from her two furbabies, Tyler and Goober. And here is the funniest part. Normally Rory hates milk bones! I can't tell you how many times I have bought them and then threw them out! But the ones from Lisa? He inhaled them! All at one sitting. Little piglet. LOL

I haven't had a chance to download any photos so Lisa if you have one to share please do.

My Santa is on his way. I totally made a mistake in the note to my partner. I wrote that I stitched on 36ct opalescent fabric. I did not...it's 32 ct tea dyed at least I think it is! I am really losing it!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR ALL GROUP MEMBERS

Today we lost a valued member of our HoE community. She has informed me that she no longer wants to participate in our exchanges - and I don't blame her for how she feels.

She felt she put a lot of hard work, love and care into a recent exchange. Unfortunately, her recipient did not acknowledge receiving the exchange by posting or emailing her. Her feelings were very hurt.

I cannot say how many times I have tried to reinforce in this group the importance of communication. I am so deeply saddened that we lost this member today. She feels strongly that the recipient of her exchange behaved rudely towards her.

If you feel you cannot 1) let the sender know you got your exchange, and 2) post about it here on the blog... with a picture too!!....

... then please let me know and I will remove you from the group. This issue has been brewing for a while, and now that we lost this member, I feel we can no longer tolerate ungrateful or careless behavior. There are some of you who are repeat offenders in this area... please recognize this and do the right thing.

Taking Sign Ups for Santa Ornament Round

Looks like it is time now to start sign ups for our next round as today is the mailing date for the Stitcher's Choice Round...

We had a lot of votes over the year for a Santa theme, so let's go with that to start off the year, get 2012 rolling.

For this round, you can stitch any ornament you want, as long as Santa appears in one form or other somewhere on your ornament ;-) As usual, no AIDA, please... linen and evenweave only.

Again, this will be a no-goodies exchange (stop breaking the rules folks, you make the rest of us look bad - LOL!)

Here Are My Trees...

This year I have two Christmas Trees and here they are:

The first is our annual holiday tree where Santa will leave the gifts...

The second Christmas Tree is one that I will leave up all year. I will leave it where it is, in the kitchen but after the holiday I will use it to display many of my needlework ornaments.

I LOVE THIS PACKAGE!! This is from Amy V and is full of all my favorites!! I really wanted the spider scissors but never bought them for myself. I've already used the material on some crafts not to mention the needles, pins and my favorite kind of small tote. Not to forget the beautiful FOB she made from the 2010 Just Cross Stitch Halloween issue-Val's Stuff pattern. I did receive this on time but kept forgetting to post it. Mine also went out as predicted when I got my vehicle back but has a bit of a ways to travel. Thanks again, Amy....awesome surprise!

Stitcher's Choice Christmas Ornament Round Now Open for Sign Ups

The final round of the perpetual Christmas Ornament Exchange (for 2011, at least!) will be a stitcher's choice round - no set theme, just stitch an ornament that you want to stitch for your partner!

I will take sign up names until October 31, 2011.
Mailing date will be December 15, 2011. If you receive a partner wo lives some distance from you, it would be most appreciated if you could/would mail even earlier than that - we all know how the postal system bogs down at the holidays!

Usual rules - NO AIDA. Also, no goodies - please, please, no goodies. It is just too hard for some and makes them feel bad to receive goodies and not be able to send them. Your ornament will be more than gift enogh for any of us!

This exchange is open to current memebers of HoE or HoEII only. I will not be taking new members into this group until sometime in 2012. Recent drop outs and folks not following through has been hard for me to repair... so we will stay as we are for now. Thanks for understanding!

I'm sorry that it has taken me sooo long to post, but I have received a beautiful ornament from Margaret C. for the Words of Christmas ornament exchange. Thanks you so much!!!! Unfortunately, it came while I was away on vacation so I wasn't able to post sooner.

Also, my ornament has been sent as well. It shouldn't take too long for my partner to receive it.

Fall Pyn Keep is finally here!

Hi Everyone,

Finally, on Monday I received my Fall Pyn Keep from Michelle! It was long in getting here but it arrived safe and sound. Michelle stitched a pretty pyn keep called "Just a Little Autumn" by San-Man Originals. She used Weeks Dye Works threads on 28-count tea-dyed evenweave. Thank you, Michelle!

My package was all ready to be sent out on time but then I had no way to get to the Post Office these past two days due to car issues...rrrrrr.....Getting car back on Wednesday and my first stop will be the Post Office!!!! Thanks for your patience!

On the weekend I received this beautiful ornament from Gabi in Australia. In her card she tells me it's done on 36ct linen and stitched with silks. Her stitching and finishing is perfect!!
